The Most Magical Day at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London
I wanted to talk about one of the coolest experiences that I have ever had in my life and that is the day that I got to visit the Making of Harry Potter at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London back in 2019. This was a bucket list item for me since Harry Potter is one of my all time favorite series and it helped shape my childhood and influenced my taste in books. I think I might have manifested this trip for myself, because when I was younger I said an advertisement for this experience while watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and I told myself I was going to go there one day.
Inside the Tour:
The day of the tour started out exciting because I got to go on my first train ride! I went with a family member and we rode the train from London to Watford and then got to ride on a double decker bus from the station in Watford to the studio entrance. The tickets that we had for this tour were VIP tickets which meant that we got to go on a guided tour, have lunch at studios and get a butterbeer treat. Being able to do this VIP tour was awesome since our tour guide got to show us things that aren’t accessible through the regular tour and it gave us access to be able to see an empty Great Hall! After our guided tour was over, we were able to go around the studio at our own pace and really got to look at the items on display in great detail and had lots of time to take some great pictures! Some of my favorite sets to see were the Gryffindor common room, the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore’s office and Privet Drive. One of the highlights of this tour was a scale model of Hogwarts. It was absolutely breathtaking! In fact, the picture of the model that I took has been my computer wallpaper ever since this trip! The tour has been updated since I went, so there are a lot more magical sets and items that you can see!
What’s amazing about this tour is that you are able to go through and see the actual film sets and pieces that are used in the movies. When I went to the studios, it was during a time where they were highlighting the fourth film in the series: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. That meant that some of the items on the tour were specifically from that movie like: the costumes from the Yule Ball, the Triwizard Cup, and the Great Hall was set up to mimic the scene where Fred and George got magically older.
Would I Recommend this Experience?
Yes, 100%! If you are a Harry Potter fan, or just a film fan in general and love to see behind the scenes items then I would highly recommend going on this tour if you are ever in the London area. It was a truly magical day!
