Book Lovers Mini Review

This is a spoiler free review.

This is a mini book review of Book Lovers by Emily Henry. I wasn’t expecting to read another Emily Henry book so soon after finishing my reread of People We Meet on Vacation but I received this book as part of a Valentine’s event at my work.

I am so happy that I’ve discovered Emily Henry since there is just something so comforting and fun about her books. I was not disappointed in the banter of this book, it was funny and sarcastic and so much fun to read! I enjoyed how the main female character was a departure from other romance female leads and I loved how her ambitions and goals never got pushed to the side when she was navigating her relationships. I liked seeing how the love interests in the story were brought closer together by the fact that they were more alike than they originally thought. It was neat to see that the author included a note at the end of the book about her inspiration behind the book. I liked learning about how the story was a redefining of the trope of “the other woman” who is usually found in Hallmark movies, which is something that I had never seen before! I was really sad to see these characters go by the end of the story, and would love to read a sequel!

I am so excited that there will be an adaptation of this story and will be following along very closely for any movie related news!
